The useful details, without the small print.
RowGather supports standard HTML tables, common framework tables and ARIA grids, plus repeated link lists, cards, definition lists and aligned CSS grids. It can read same-origin frames and open Shadow DOM. Canvas, cross-origin frames and some ambiguous layouts remain unsupported; virtual scrolling requires stable record identifiers.
It supports next-page buttons, load more, manual pagination and supported virtual scrolling. The sidebar may close while web collection continues; keep the source tab and browser open. Check source totals, limits and page behavior. Matching counts alone do not certify completeness.
Yes. Rename and reorder columns in the preview, select which fields to keep, and edit cells with undo and redo. Original cell values are preserved in saved task backups and Excel edit records. Saved-task previews are read-only.
Yes. Each detected record stays on its own row. Link directories keep text and URLs separately. When there is no explicit header, the first record is retained and temporary column names can be edited. For headerless CSV or TSV, uncheck “First row contains column names”.
This version works with text-based PDFs. You can select regions and adjust column boundaries, but complex layouts still need review. OCR for scanned or image-only documents is not included.
The current extension processes webpage tables and PDFs on your device. Tasks and rules are stored in your browser profile. It has no cloud upload or telemetry. Back up your tasks before uninstalling or changing browser profiles.
Download the latest published ZIP, extract it, and load the folder containing manifest.json through Developer mode in Chrome or Chromium-based Edge 130 or newer. It is an unpacked release candidate, not a store installation. Free single-table extraction needs no account; Pro features require a paid license.
Yes, for web collection: keep the source tab and browser open. Closing the source tab, restarting the browser or a long suspension pauses the task and keeps saved batches. PDF processing still needs its workspace open.
Single-table extraction and individual exports have no daily quota or commercial row cap, within device safety limits. Save one task and try continuous collection up to 3 pages/batches or 500 cumulative rows per task, whichever is reached first. The next whole batch is not saved if it would exceed the row allowance. Text PDFs support up to 3 pages per operation. Pro adds larger continuous jobs, multiple tasks, saved rules and batch export.
